Scottish Maritime Museum Visit.
Once again the club has been invited to the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine on Saturday the 15/08/26. The club attended this event last year and there was a very good attendance by members and there boats. The format will be a static model display by the club and if members wish they can sail there boats in the tank at the museum. If anyone wishes to attend can you let Ken know as he needs to let the organizers know the number of members attending. Ken has still to get more information about this event and will duly let all members know.
Troon Lifeboat Station Visit
Some members of Ayr Model Boat Club have been visiting Troon life boat station. An invitation was sent to Ken from Jim Redmond of the RNLI at Troon for members to come along and get a tour of the station. This was in response to the late club member Billy Morrison's sale of his boats with a donation to the RNLI last year. This was an interesting visit the members watched a training launch of the all weather Shannon class and in shore D class lifeboats. The members were also shown round the station and were told of the history of Troon Life boat station. Also the members were told how the RNLI and the coast guard work together to save life at sea. Club members met some of the on duty life boat crew as well.
