Troon Lifeboat Station Visit

​Some members of Ayr Model Boat Club have been visiting Troon life boat station. An invitation was sent to Ken from Jim Redmond of the RNLI at Troon for members to come along and get a tour of the station. This was in response to the late club member Billy Morrison's sale of his boats with a donation to the RNLI last year. This was an interesting visit the members watched a training launch of the all weather Shannon class and in shore D class lifeboats. The members were also shown round the station and were told of the history of Troon Life boat station. Also the members were told how the RNLI and the coast guard work together to save life at sea. Club members met some of the on duty life boat crew as well. ​​​​​​​
