Sam,s Project
Samson paddle boat
The model is a typical African river paddle boat with two paddle wheels with individual drive to both paddles. it was built in approximately two months. it started out with a chain drive to both gear paddles which was inefficient and was changed to a bevel gear and drive shaft system which improved run time and efficiency. The gearing was still not right and resulted in a fast paddle wheel speed which is not good, so the gearing in the motor and the rear gear boxes was changed. The rear gearboxes now have worm drive Meccano gears which allows a big gear reduction in a small space. The model now has a good scale speed on the paddles and looks so much better for it. The models built from a Sarik hobbies plan. Lulonga MM1465
